We’d like to remind everyone that there is no school tomorrow, November 11th, in honor of Veterans Day! Students return to school on Wednesday, Nov. 12th.

There will be no school on Tuesday, November 11th, in recognition of Veterans Day!

*This is for all grade levels and buildings. All CCSD offices will be closed that day.*

Chillicothe High School and Middle School will be closed on Friday, November 14th. All 7th - 12th grade students will not attend school that day.

All other CCSD buildings - Chillicothe STEM Preschool, Primary School, and Intermediate School - will be open and in session that day. Pre-K - 6th grade students should attend school on Friday, November 14th!

We’d like to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped us PACK THE BUS last night! CCSD is committed to continuing helping to fight food insecurity in our district and community. Your donations will go a long way to help those in need! 💙🚍 We’d also like to give a special shoutout to Downtown Chillicothe for their support and help with this project!

Chillicothe Fire Department is hosting a Drive-Thru Food Drive THIS Saturday to help combat food insecurity in our community! Be sure to come out, donate, and help feed your community!

They will be receiving donations at the department, at 54 E Water St, from 9:00AM - 1:00PM.

🕰️ Another fun extension to the grade level Changes study in second grade is our Trek Through Time community experience! 🕰️
Designed using the expertise of our local historical society, this experience takes our students back through time in our historic downtown. You may see us during our travels the next couple of days!

👀 Be on the lookout for this notebook to come home! If you decide to time travel with your student using the home connection pages included within it, you will earn 1 of the 3 needed credits for the invite to the December Innovators’ Breakfast.🏅🍩

Help us Pack The Bus THIS Thursday, November 6th, from 4-6PM. A Chillicothe City School District school bus will be parked on The west side of Paint Street, outside the jail. Please donate canned goods or non-perishable food items, or make a monetary donation if you can, to support the Cavalier Closet!

2nd grade muddy boots is a wrap! Some of these field scientists have been learning at Muddy Boots since their first days in preschool. Every year, twice a year. 💙
We believe in this real world application of classroom learning and the competencies it builds, like compassion, communication and critical thinking. 🤍
We are so grateful for the Ross County Park District for the space and expertise that has helped cultivate these amazing experiences for our students. 🌲

Shining behavior deserves a shining celebration. Our Cavaliers earned their PBIS quarterly reward by showing kindness, responsibility, and the very best school behavior. Their efforts paid off with an incredible Glow Party. The gym was glowing with neon necklaces, big smiles, and some serious dance moves while students sang along to their favorite songs. We love celebrating positive choices and watching our students light up the room ✨🕺🎶

Here are a couple of important reminders for the rest of the week:

1. Tomorrow, October 15th, is the last day of the First Nine Weeks! Let's finish strong, Cavaliers!

2. There is no school for students on Thursday, October 16th, or Friday, October 17th!

We are so grateful to have such a dedicated food services team that goes above and beyond! This summer, they received the Silver Snow Pea Award in the Farm to Summer challenge! Congratulations!

Adena Mobile Health Clinic will be visiting us outside of Chillicothe High School coming up soon! Monday, October 6th and Monday, October 27th they will be with us from 8:30AM - 2:30PM!

We are hosting a Q&A Panel regarding the upcoming levy! Join us on Wednesday, October 1st at 6:00PM to have your questions answered and gain clarity on any topics you may seek further information on.

This panel will be hosted in the Chillicothe Intermediate School cafeteria!
