Picture Day is Tomorrow!

Ohio School Safety Tip Line: If you feel unsafe at school or know someone who feels unsafe at school, please report it using the tip line below.

This week's message from the principals highlights Grandfriends Day and Fall Picture Day!

Important Reminder: School Picture Day is this week on Thursday, September 12. Visit www.downtownphotos.com and use access code CHILLICOTHEINT to pre-order photos.

We would like the Chillicothe Police Department for their support of our kids! They have been showing up on Friday mornings and greeting our kid's with music and a positive message. This ties in to our PBIS intervention system that promotes positive school culture! Again we want to thank our local police for all they do!

Each week, CIS students will receive a weekly message from their teachers. In this message, you will find great information about what your child is learning throughout the week. Students are encouraged to share this letter with their families by reading it to them and discussing the great things that happen at CIS. Here is this week's letter from the principals.

Again this year at CIS, students have the opportunity to earn Career Badges by completing optional career exploration activities. In the coming weeks and throughout the year, be on the lookout for these "Career Home Connection" notebooks that will be coming home with your child. Teachers will preview the notebook with students before sending them home, as these are an extension of classroom career explorations. Each notebook will have required components, as well as a portion that allows your student to choose activities to personalize their learning. Once a notebook is complete, parents/guardians will sign on the back page, and students will return them to their classroom teacher. Career Badges will be awarded at the end of the year!

There is still time to RSVP for Grandfriends Day! Any Grandfriend of a CIS student is invited for a snack and classroom activity on September 9. The 3rd and 4th grade celebration will be held at 9:00am, while the 5th and 6th grade celebration will be held at 10:00am. Please RSVP via this link: https://forms.gle/nKbpfmnUQNk4aksP6

We would like to remind everyone that there will be no school on Monday, September 2nd, in observation of Labor Day! We’ll see everyone on Tuesday. Have a great and safe long weekend!

Good evening,
We have made the decision to have early release tomorrow, due to the intense forecasted heat. This post includes the adjusted times for everyone to dismiss. Please plan accordingly!

Remind students to show their Cavalier spirit by wearing blue tomorrow for our PBIS pep rallies! Go Cavs!

It was wonderful to see all of our students back in our building today, and we are excited to continue this school year tomorrow. Thank you for your patience today at dismissal. Moving forward, walkers and car riders are dismissed at 2:10pm. 3rd grade pick up will occur in the bus parking lot with parents using the football field parking lot to line up while waiting. 4th graders can be picked up on Arch Street in front of the school. 5th and 6th grade students can be picked up in the rear of the school on Metzger Avenue. Remember to always use designated crosswalks when crossing the street. Finally, the office needs to be notified of any dismissal changes prior to 1:30 each day. Go Cavs!
