Jonah and Lilah

We are excited to present these awesome Cavaliers! Jonah Burns and Lilah Burns are quite the science-savvy siblings. Jonah and Lilah both presented their projects at the Ohio Invention Convention earlier this year.

Jonah’s project, titled, “Lux Spectacle” is an invention designed to support people who have light sensitivity/seizures. He used a light sensor and 3D-printed shutter that closes in front of eye glasses when the sensor detects a certain change in Lux (brightness) in a specific amount of time. Jonah was awarded 3rd place in the south region, as well as 3rd place overall in grades 8-12.

Lilah’s invention is “ProKinDance”. ProKinDance is designed to support strength training, proprioception and kinesthetic awareness for dancers by lighting up to show the primary muscle groups used for certain strength exercises. Lilah won the Industry Award for Sports, Games, and Toys industry.

Both students received invitations to present at the Ohio Statehouse for Kid Inventor Day in January of 2026. Not only that, but both students also received an invitation to travel to Michigan in June of next year as part of Ohio’s delegation for Invention Convention Nationals.

We couldn’t be more proud of these two! We are lucky to have such exceptional students in our Cavalier Community!
