Profile: Megan Cooper, Chillicothe Primary School Assistant Principal

At the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, Megan Cooper joined the Chillicothe Primary School team as assistant principal. Since then, she has integrated into our district as an active participant in community and school-related activities.

Ms. Cooper began her teaching career in 2003 at Zane Trace Local Schools as a third-grade teacher before moving to Paint Valley, where she taught preschool, kindergarten and second grade. In 2019, she transitioned to Westfall Elementary School as an assistant principal, where she felt like she truly found her calling. “I loved being able to build relationships with my students, staff and families,” said Ms. Cooper. “Since starting at Chillicothe, I have gotten to know the students, staff, and families.  I am so thankful for this amazing opportunity to do what I love with such amazing people.”

In her role, Ms. Cooper is looking forward to helping CPS and the district meet our goals and build positive relationships with students, staff and community members. “As I establish myself within the Chillicothe learning community, my desire is to assist the district in achieving district benchmarks and goals,” she said. “I personally want to focus on building a culture where all members are respected and can share and implement district initiatives. It is only through this process that student growth and achievement can occur.”

Outside of work, Ms. Cooper enjoys spending time with her family and attending sporting events with her three kids. She also loves music, including an occasional karaoke session. We’re so grateful to have Ms. Cooper as our CPS assistant principal and look forward to many successes to come!
