Community Connections

In the 2018 - 2019 school year, Mt. Logan Elementary School changed its identity as the district transitioned into new elementary buildings.  Mt. Logan Elementary School is now the Mt. Logan Educational Center and is the home of a number of programs that will benefit the education of our Chillicothe City School Students along with programming that benefits our community as well.  Mt. Logan is the location of preschool programs for both the Chillicothe City School District and the Pioneer School consisting of eight preschool classrooms. In addition to providing curricular needs to our students, Mt. Logan is also the location for various summer school programs, our summer lunch program and tutoring programs.

Mt. Logan also houses a Chillicothe-Ross Public Library Branch and on September 12, 2019 we will have our ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Health Clinic made possible through a partnership with Adena Health System and Hopewell Health.  Also located at our Mt. Logan facility is the Youth Build Program through the Sojourner Care Network. This program serves young adults ages 16 through 25 that are pursuing a high school diploma or GED through an alternative pathway. Additionally, the Chillicothe City School District is in conversation with local organizations such as The Assistance House, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the OSU Extension Office and other local agencies that we believe could provide support and assistance to our Chillicothe Community.  Finally, beginning in November of this year, Mt. Logan will host a winter community market on Saturdays from 9:00am - 1:00pm through the month of April which will feature a number of local vendors for the purchase of locally grown produce and other goods

The Chillicothe City School District values our community connections! Here is a list of some of those valuable connections:
